Synergt.IT and The Sales Creator have migrated all hosted email accounts to a more powerful, secure and future-proof system. Please review these notes about the process and how this may affect you:

1. If Synergy.IT the Sales Creator are your Registrar

  • We have migrated your account on your behalf go here

2. If Synergy.IT the Sales Creator are NOT your Registrar

  • Your domain registrar may have sent you a notification email that changes have been made to your domain settings. This can be ignored.
  • Contact us imediatly or follow the instructions below

Outlook users

  • If you use an offline email program such as Microsoft Outlook, you will not notice any change, however you may need to sign into the old server to check that no email are remaining on the old server. ( This would be a very limited number or none at all dependent on how long the new server setting took to propergate.)
    • Here is the old webmail server: http://66.226.8.80/Login.aspx
    • Sign in using your normal email address and password ( If you require help with this Contact Us)
and there is nothing you need to do.

Smartermail webmail users

  • If you had contacts saved on the old server, you will find that these have been transferred to the new one. Please check and ensure they are present.
  • Any email left on the webmail server cannot be transferred to the new server. However, you can still sign into the old server for a limited period to read, print, or forward any important emails.
    • Here is the old webmail server: http://66.226.8.80/Login.aspx
    • Sign in using your normal email address and password

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Synergy.IT Limited T/A - THe Sales Creator

Domain Name Server (DNS) records tell the web browser which internet protocol (ip) address to go when a person types a domain name into the address field. The DNS server translates written domain names into ip numbers.

For our purposes, we handle all DNS settings at the customer's domain registrar. If the domain belongs to a website that was previously hosted elsewhere, then you may need to restore the "Name Servers" to the registrar's own name servers, otherwise, DNS settings cannot be applied. The registrar will provide a button for this.

Each Synergy.IT/The Sales Creator application has its own ip address - Please see your own documentation for this ip number.

* For example, the Synergy.IT/The Sales Creator web application uses 75.126.17.171
* The Synergy.IT/The Sales Creator web server also has its own ip address: 75.126.107.229.
* The Synergy.IT/The Sales Creator email server is referenced using the domain name "mail.wonderwebs.net"

What records are required

When adding a new website and email services to a Synergy.IT/The Sales Creator , we must provide the following DNS records to the domain registrar:

* The "A" record points to your Synergy.IT/The Sales Creator application ip
* The "CName" Alias record points to mail.wonderwebs.net
* The "MX" Mail record points to mail.wonderwebs.net
* The "TXT" or "SPF" record is provided below

SPF Records

Sender Policy Framework (SPF) records are an important part of configuring email services for your customers. This record indicates which servers are allowed to send email for a given sender address. Emails that do not reference a valid SPF record are increasingly likely to be tagged as spam or bounced. If WonderWebs is not providing email services for the customer, then a different SPF record will be required.

The following SPF record can be used for all domains that have email services also hosted at Synergy.IT/The Sales Creator. Should the mail server ip change, then this record will need to be updated for each domain.

v=spf1 a mx ip4:75.126.107.229 ip4:66.228.120.12 ~all

Applying records

Every domain registrar has its own control panel with varying levels of access to these records. Some, such as Register Direct do not allow for an SPF record, whilst Domainz doesn't allow for anything much at all. It is therfore advisable to encourage customers to purchase their domains at a suitable registrar such as Freeparking, or help them transfer their domain to such a registrar. Transfers are very easy to do and often provide an extra year of registration as a bonus.

Examples

Here are examples of the DNS settings pages from several registrars. Note that the server ip used here specifically belongs to WonderWebs.com and you should insert your own in its place.

Freeparking

Discount Domains

Register Direct
This registrar did not allow an SPF record to be applied.

GoDaddy

Note that the POP and SMTP Cnames records have also been set to mail.wonderwebs.net in this example. This is not required.
